Wading is a trainable skill!

Not only is wading a trainable skill, but all of the many individual components that intersect within the act of wading are trainable skills. While a quick search on the web or scroll through YouTube will leave you landing on plenty of resources that speak to basic wading technique(we’ll touch on this subject more towards the end of the course) there has yet to be an in-depth method that incorporates a system of evidence based mobility training, functional movement, and the science of mindfulness. That’s where the Wade Well Method steps in.

Wading is a whole body practice and should be treated as such. Not only that, but the act of wading can in many cases A) serve as a barrier to entry for newcomers to the sport who may not have experience navigating bodies of water, B) result in physical injury or mental distress that may in some cases have been avoidable, and C) prevent some anglers from continuing to pursue and engage in their love of angling later in life for any number of reasons.

Wading isn’t a requirement in order to fly fish. There remain to be plenty of options for those who are either unable or uninterested in wading to still fully immerse themselves in the therapeutic practice of fly angling. But for those who consider wading to be an intriguing and integral part of their experience while on the water, this course aims to celebrate and support that portion of our mindful movement practice. Let’s take a brief look at an overview of topics that will be addressed within this course…
